Most of us walk to the bathroom, reach for food, travel, run, or move through our day without even thinking about it but for an amputee living through the aftermath of a devastating war, even the smallest movement can depend on someone else carrying them.
Thousands of survivors have lost one or both legs because of violence, bombardment, and injustice. Without a wheelchair, they may be left waiting for help just to eat, drink, pray, reach medical care, or use the bathroom with basic privacy and dignity.
